Shifting towards co-production of knowledge is expected to enable science to have greater impact on sustainable development outcomes. At HELSUS, we research the validity of different forms and systems of knowledge, including indigenous, academic, local and tacit. We connect knowledge from the Global South and Global North and make space for weaving knowledge systems to tackle global sustainability challenges.
We develop transdisciplinary research and make use of new ways to co-produce knowledge, overcoming biases of consensus and barriers of polarisation and conflict. Seeing knowledge as both a process and an outcome, we co-produce through sustainability research, education, and action.
