CBRU is a multidisciplinary organization with researchers and students coming from various backgrounds. Our teaching is mainly arranged through the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Educational Sciences. We give lectures on neuroscientific topics and methodology, host international guest speakers as well as supervise theses from Bachelor's to PhD level. The data acquired in thesis projects are often published in international peer-reviewed journals with the student as one of the authors. We have many ongoing projects, from which you might find a topic for your thesis—the process begins by contacting one of our researchers. For inspiration, see our list of completed theses below.
Courses and degree programmes

At CBRU, teaching and research form a symbiotic interplay, which is motivating for both the student and the supervisor as well as a guarantee of high quality. CBRU researchers supervise the laboratory practice, teach in the EEG practicum, give visiting lectures and organize book examinations. Courses such as Neuroscience of music, Integrative Neuroscience and hands-on courses on MEG and TMS have been organized. Many CBRU researchers contribute to the neuroscience modules in Psychology as well as Changing Education Master's Programme, which is an English-language 2-year full-time master's degree programme at the Faculty of Educational Sciences. CBRU hosts ERASMUS students regularly; it has also been the coordinating unit of the international Master's program Tempus. We welcome students from many fields.

Thesis supervision

Theses completed at CBRU have typically received a high grade from the reviewers and many have received awards for high quality. During the thesis project, the student will learn scientific thinking, theory, skills for data acquisition, analysis, and statistics, as well as scientific writing skills. The doctoral theses are based on publications in international journals with referee practice and many Master's projects so far have resulted in an international publication where the student is one of the authors. We think this is a fair and motivating deal both for the student and the supervisor. This also provides an opportunity to include the publication in the PhD thesis, should the student wish to proceed to postgraduate studies (with a jump start). If you are interested in preparing your thesis at CBRU, find a potential supervisor from our personnel and be in touch with us.
