Learning, Culture and Interventions

The Learning, Culture and Interventions (LECI) research community aims to maintain and promote high-quality pedagogical research with national and international impact at the Faculty, particularly research focused on learning, culture and interventions as well as teaching and public engagement based on it.

LECI brings together the Faculty’s research and teaching staff and visiting scholars, who are united by an interest in human and community activities, learning and development as part of cultures and their operating systems. Researchers in the LECI research community apply and further develop especially sociocultural approaches and the cultural-historical activity theory. The research conducted in the community utilises theories and methods that transcend discipline boundaries, including anthropology, sociology, media research, philosophy, applied linguistics and cultural studies. The community comprises five Faculty research groups.
