Interested in applying to an International Master's Programme but not sure how to do it? Looking for an authentic insight into student life before making your decision?

The University of Helsinki is ranked within the top 1% of universities in the world and our doors are open to students from all over the globe. However, we know that the application process can be both exciting and overwhelming.

The aim of this webinar is to address your questions and worries regarding the matter. In addition, our students will share their journeys providing you with a full picture of the adventure you are about to embark on. 

In this webinar, you will:

  • get an overview of the application process and some tips on how to make your application successful.
  • get an insight into student life at the University of Helsinki directly from our students, and learn about topics like moving to Helsinki, studying, finding housing, meeting new friends and joining student organisations.
  • have an opportunity to ask questions from our students and admission advisers.

Student panel speakers

Racheal studies in the Master's Programme in Contemporary Societies, following the Social Psychology track. She is from Malta and Nigeria, but has lived in Finland for some time now. Her academic interests focus on ethnic relations and migration, as well as technology and its relationship to social psychology. She is currently training with the Admission Services and is looking forward to expanding her repertoire by hosting this webinar.

Nilüfer is a Master's student in Neuroscience. Besides the brain, there are many things to explore in this universe, so in her leisure time, she loves embarking on the unknown and discovering the hidden gems of Helsinki. She also enjoys capturing the moment with her camera, and spends her time painting and baking. Overall, she believes that life is about exploring and discovering new things that bring us joy and fulfilment. Whether it's through photography, art, or simply exploring new places. In this webinar, she wants to share what being a master's student at the University of Helsinki feels like.

Zeeshan is a student in the Master's Programme in Computer Science. He enjoys being close to nature, watching football and cricket, and listening to music. In this webinar, he wants to encourage prospective students with their aspirations and share his experience of living in Helsinki.
