Luomus-Lab

The LUOMUS DNA laboratory facility is providing bench space and equipment for efficient application of molecular genetic markers in studies of systematics, biogeography, and conservation biology. Work in the Luomus-lab is organized in independent research teams led by Luomus responsible PI´s.

Ser­vices

In addition to lab equipment, the lab provides support of the part-time laboratory manager and some basic laboratory supplies.

Infrastructure

The lab has up-to-date facilities for standard molecular work, DNA extraction and PCR amplification. Sequencing is outsourced to sequencing service laboratories at the University of Helsinki or international commercial companies.
