Our research group investigates gene evolution, focusing on the origins of novel genetic information, its evolutionary dynamics, and its impact on the host organism’s genome. We are particularly interested in the evolution of RNA genes, which play an important role in gene regulation and cell function. To study these processes, we use a range of computational methods. Our work contributes to understanding of human diseases and provides insights into how species adapt to changing environments.
