Practical research training during undergraduate BSc, MSc and Lic (Med, Vet Med) studies can be an empowering experience. HiLIFE Research Trainee Scholarships offer an opportunity to conduct a research training period at a life science research group as a part of voluntary studies (particularly BSc/MSc/Lic thesis). The research group can be selected either at the University of Helsinki or at another research institute abroad. Read more about the experiences of other trainees in the HiLIFE Research Trainee blog.
The scholarships are granted once per year, and more information on the next application round will be available here by June 2022.
HiLIFE is offering funding to support BSc and MSc students interested in attending online conferences or courses/training. The topics covered in the conference/training should revolve around the field of life sciences or help you further your career in a life science field.
You can apply for this conference grant by filling out this form
Applications are evaluated by the HiLIFE EDU committee on a rolling basis every other month.
HiLIFE has established a postdoc council with members from the Viikki Postdoc Association (ViPA), NC, and FIMM. The goal of this council is to connect postdocs working in different HiLIFE units, as well as share resources and support with the whole HiLIFE postdoc community.
One member of the HiLIFE postdoc council is also part of the HiLIFE EDU committee. For more information, please contact Esa-Pekka Kumpula (esa-pekka.kumpula@helsinki.fi), the current chair of the HiLIFE postdoc council.
