The Dean leads the operations of the Faculty and supports the rector in the University’s leadership. The current term of deans in these six faculties will conclude at the end of 2025. According to the university regulations, the faculty council appoints the dean for a term of up to five years.
The faculty council appoints an appointment committee to assist in selecting the dean. The groups of professors, staff and students on the Faculty Council each elect one member for the appointment committee. Additionally, the Rector appoints one member to the group. The dean is selected by the faculty council based on theappointment committee’s proposal.
The dean recruitment schedule is roughly the same across all faculties but may vary slightly depending on the schedules of each faculty’s appointment committee and council.
Appointment committees will meet in June to select the candidates who will proceed in the application process. Interviews and public hearings will be held in August. In September–October, the faculty councils will decide on the selection of the deans.
Following the dean selection, the recruitment of vice-deans and department heads will begin in the faculties. The new terms for deans, vice-deans, and department heads will start on January 1, 2026.
