The Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy at Copenhagen Business School is in the process of prioritizing research in contemporary and long-term challenges to civil and cultural life in the Nordic countries. In so doing, two postdoc positions have been created to be filled a.s.a.p.
The post docs are a non-tenured position with research obligation.
One position is a 3-year postdoc on national versus Nordic models. This position is affiliated with the ongoing Nordic research program ReNEW Reimagining Norden in an Evolving World. The candidate will be associated with the History Group within the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy, and is expected to take part in the center’s academic activities. The focus of the project should be on the relationship/contrast between national traditions, and ideas of common Nordic models. The project analyses empirical fields associated with the cultural or civil sector. The expected output is a co-edited book/anthology together with Associate Professor Mads Mordhorst, and at least three articles in relevant journals. The other position is a 2-year postdoc affiliated to the ongoing project: Comparative Analysis of Associative Governance in Norden with emphasis on long-term historical aspects of civic engagement and democratic corporativism in business and politics. The candidate will be associated with the CBS Center for Civil Society Studies. Deliverables include a peer reviewed monograph in English co-authored by professors Anker Brink Lund and Haldor Byrkjeflot (to be published in the Fall of 2020) and shorter, less academic texts addressing the general reading public in Norden. The postdocs will be associated with Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy. MPP is organised into four research groups: politics; business history; philosophy.

Qualifications
The applicant must hold a PhD or the equivalent in history, ethnology or sociology or similar. In assessing applications, particular emphasis will be placed on research potential. Emphasis is placed on research relevant to the job description. The applicant must have professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) and at least one Nordic language. Applicants are asked to sketch a dedicated research project within the priorities of the department, focusing on cultural and/or civil challenges in Norden.
