ECOSYSTEX Network & Public Webinar (17.11.2023)

Colour4CRAFTS joins innovative ECOSYSTEX network with public webinar

Earlier this week, the Horizon EU-funded project, Colour4CRAFTS joined the innovative ECOSYSTEX network to foster broader collaboration, increase and enhance the dissemination of research results and to create a greater sustainable impact. This new partnership will be launched via an online public webinar on 17 November 2023.

Colour4CRAFTS consortium project, funded by Horizon EU, launched in July 2023. The project focuses on combining the cultural traditions of dyes and textiles, with the development of novel dyeing techniques and bio-based dyes using state-of-the-art technology. Based at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Helsinki, the Colour4CRAFTS consortium consists of members from 5 different countries and 6 research institutions – the University of Helsinki, the University of Lapland, the University of Tartu (Estonia), the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA, Belgium), the University of Leeds (UK), and PILI Bio. The project’s partners and collaborators include Museovirasto (Finnish Cultural Heritage Agency), Suomen Muinaismuistoyhdistus, Estonian National Museum, Natural History Museum of Latvia, Institute for Latvian History, Craft Museum of Finland, and DyeCoo Textile Systems, to name a few.

ECOSYSTEX is a network of “26 EU-funded member projects” that launched in 2023 with the mission to “accelerate collaboration in the textile sustainability and circularity field” and “to create a long-term community of practice, ensuring collaboration across project consortia and lasting beyond the individual projects’ durations.” In joining the ECOSYSTEX network, Colour4CRAFTS not only supports and contributes to ECOSYSTEX’s mission and achieves several key actions of the project through “combining, re-engineering, applying, futuring, transforming, and stretching” knowledge, methodological practices, and technological solutions with ECOSYSTEX, but this connection enhances Colour4CRAFT’s ability to create a greater impact in developing and delivering sustainable solutions for textile industries and creative production.

The online public webinar marking the start of Colour4CRAFTS’ membership with ECOSYSTEX will be held on 17 November 2023 at 10:00 – 12:00 CET. To join the event, participants can register via the link, found here: https://forms.office.com/e/82iHiMfQBB.
