Meals

The kitchen at Kilpisjärvi Biological Station offers a delicious variety of home-cooked food. Meals include a plentiful salad bar, warm main dishes, freshly-baked bread and a dessert. Please check the kitchen opening hours and indicate any dietary restrictions and allergies when making your booking. The dining room can accommodate roughly 60 diners. 

Booking meals

Meals must be booked in advance at the office. You can also register on site on the day by adding your name and any dietary restrictions to the list outside the cafeteria. You must register for breakfast the day before, and by 9.00 in the morning for lunch and dinner on the same day.

Packed lunch

Lunch can be replaced with a packed lunch, which you can assemble yourself at breakfast. A packed lunch must be requested no later than the previous evening.

Independent cooking

In the winter, the kitchen may be closed for some weeks, during which meals are served in the visitor kitchens. You can also use these facilities to cook your own meals. Remember to label your food items with your name.

Our kitchen produces both daily meals and festive delicacies.
