Arriving at the station

Kilpisjärvi is within easy reach of various means of transport. The closest train stations are in Rovaniemi and Kolari, from which there are bus connections to Kilpisjärvi. The closest airports are located in Kittilä and Tromsø, from which you can travel to the station by airport taxi or bus. By car, you will find the station via road 21.
Buses and trains

You can travel to Kilpisjärvi by bus from Helsinki. There is a daily bus connection from Rovaniemi, as well as from Tromsø in the high season.

You can take a train to Rovaniemi or Kolari. There is a direct bus connection from Rovaniemi to Kilpisjärvi, and you can also travel by bus from Kolari to Kilpisjärvi. Car rental is available near train stations, or you can load your car in a car carrier. The railway company VR’s car-carrier trains also operate to Kolari.
By air

Several airlines operate daily to Kittilä and Tromsø.

You can request transport from Kittilä airport to the station, for example, from Kilpistaksi, or travel by bus in the high season.

A bus runs from Tromsø to Kilpisjärvi during the high season. You can also take a local bus from Tromsø to Skibotn and continue from there, for example, by taking a taxi.

By car

Road 21 leads to Kilpisjärvi. For example, the distance from Rovaniemi is about 440 km. VR car-carrier services are available to Kolari, approximately 270 kilometres from Kilpisjärvi.

The station has a large car park along Käsivarrentie right after turning to the station grounds.
