Winter holiday

For decades, the tradition of winter break or ski vacation continues at Hyytiälä Forest Station, now in our new facilities. Winter break brings the station to life during its quieter season. You won't have to worry about meals, making your holiday truly carefree.

Welcome to enjoy your winter break at Hyytiälä Forest Station from February 15th to 20rd, 2026, in our newly constructed buildings completed in 2023!

In A-building, you'll find a cozy dining hall and a smaller kitchenette for preparing your own snacks. Meanwhile, B, C, and D-buildings offer comfortable accommodation rooms.

Accommodation includes bed linens and towels. Children aged 4-12: Half price. Children under 4: Free. It's possible to book meals separately.

  • The trails are made according to snow conditions.

  • Possibility of cold water swimming
  • Ski waxing on Monday and Wednesday 8.00-10.00. Other times on weekdays self-service.

Saunas

The Small sauna is heated on Saturday 14.2. Both saunas are heated from Sunday to Thursday. Sauna time is 18–22. 

  • Saturday: small sauna women 18–20, men 20–22
  • Sunday: Men in the big sauna, women in the small sauna
  • Monday: Women in the big sauna, men in the small sauna
  • Tuesday: Men in the big sauna, women in the small sauna
  • Wednesday: Women in the big sauna, men in the small sauna
  • Thursday: Men in the big sauna, women in the small sauna
Dining during winter holiday

Meals at our station are provided from breakfast on Sunday, February 15th, to afternoon coffee on Friday, February 20rd. On the second weekend of the winter break, accommodation is available even though the Hyytiälä cafeteria is closed. You are also welcome to prepare and store your own food using the facilities in our cabin.

Reservations and inquiries by January 31 to the Hyytiälä office via email at or by phone at +358 50 576 2938.

We need the following information for the reservation, which we ask you to send by email to by 31 January 2025:

  • the names of the passenger
  • e-mail address and phone number of the booker
  • age of the child under 12 years
  • date and time of the arrival and departure
  • meal reservations
  • special dietary information, including food restrictions and special diets. For vegetarian diets, we need information on whether a person eats fish, chicken, milk or eggs.
  • information on whether you pay on the Station or by invoice
  • billing address
