The ORF library clones are available in Gateway-based entry vectors and we also provide

Most genes come with two versions: with and without stop codon. For a vector containing C-terminal tags, select the version without stop codon.
Mammalian Gene Collection collection MGC
Most MGC clones are not Gateway-compatible and require a PCR step to enable Gateway cloning. We can design PCR-primers which add attB-sites to the insert and enable BP-cloning to a Gateway entry vector. PCR for Gateway cloning is also available as a full service.
Please fill in the order form by copying the relevant fields from the collection spreadsheets (see the links above). If cloning to another vector is needed, please specify the vector in the form. Email the form to
The clones can be delivered as plates, DNA mini/midipreps, or glycerol stocks.
Local customers can arrange a pick-up from Biocenter 1, or we can ship all products in University of Helsinki internal mail. To other universities DNA is shipped in mail and glycerol stocks by UPS on dry ice (shipping charges are added to the invoice).
The delivery time is usually within a week from order.
The libraries are vendor-verified but unfortunately may contain some errors. We always recommend to sequence the clones. You can find the recommended Sanger sequencing primers suitable for your clone in the info sheet.
We provide clone verification also as a service. We can verify the clones by Sanger sequencing or whole-plasmid sequencing. For longer sequences Sanger sequencing does not necessarily cover the whole gene. If you order verification service, we'll align your construct against the original library clone and provide you the sequencing result.
Faulty clones will not be charged.
If you use a clone from the GBU in your publication, please acknowledge us in the following way:
