Perttu has joined BI as a part-time Director of the Finnish Biological NMR Center in January 2022 and will also establish research activities as part of the Biomolecular structure and function research program. He is also a Professor at the Department of Biological and Environmental Science & Department of Chemistry, University of Jyväskylä.
