Sustainability education

Sustainability is one of the University of Helsinki’s core priorities. It is embedded in education, research, campus operations, and societal engagement. There is a growing demand in society for professionals who understand sustainability. The university's education is grounded in scientific knowledge and aims to deepen the understanding of today’s complex sustainability challenges.

Sustainability courses for all students 

Bachelor’s level and master’s level degree programmes 

HELSUS affiliated researchers are involved in several bachelor’s level and master’s level degree programmes at the University of Helsinki. 

Sustainability studies are offered through several degree programmes in all faculties. (This part will be filled in later)

  • (BASUS) is an international interdisciplinary three-year bachelor's degree programme, co-created by eight leading research-intensive European universities, including University of Helsinki
