This year's Sustainability Science Days Conference 2020 was decided to be postponed by a year to May 18-19th, 2021 due to the COVID-19 situation. The dates for the 2021 conference were thus already decided last spring, but have now been confirmed. The Sustainability Science Days 2021 conference will be organized on May 18-19th, 2021.
We are working to make the conference a physical event that will be organized at the University of Helsinki city centre campus and Aalto University campus in Otaniemi, Espoo. However, the conference will be held online if the situation requires so.
The theme of the 2021 conference is Destruction and Creativity: radical changes that are indispensable for creative solutions to the present sustainability crisis. The conference will especially focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9 and 11: industry, innovation and infrastructure, and sustainable cities and communities.
The joint conference is organized by the Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science (HELSUS) and Aalto Sustainability Hub.
