Discussion event about Kate Raworth's book Doughnut Economics

Kate Raworth

HELSUS Discussion event

Economist Kate Raworth, a senior visiting research associate at Oxford University's Environmental Change Institute, ambitiously attempts in her book Doughnut Economics to frame our economic thinking so that its purpose would be the well-being of humankind within the Earth's carrying capacity rather than the current endless growth. The book will be published in Finnish in May.

The book has attracted a great deal of attention around the world and it has been awarded as one of the best business books of the year by Financial Times and Forbes. The growth critical economist Raworth has also presented recently at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Programme:

  • Raworth's introduction to the topic
  • Comments by Aki Kangasharju, Chief Economist at Nordea Markets
