Research in Archaeology at the University of Helsinki investigates past human societies through their settlements, cemeteries, material culture, and interactions with landscapes and the environment. Our work combines archaeological theory with fieldwork, laboratory and scientific analyses, and digital approaches across prehistoric to historical contexts and local to international settings.
