The Alumni Day is the most important event of the year for University of Helsinki alumni. The Alumni Day brings together the top scientific minds and alumni of the University of Helsinki for an inspiring discussion and a chance to work together. In addition to cutting-edge science content, there will be relaxed socialising with other alumni.

This year, Alumni Day is comprised of a morning and an evening session. The shared purpose of both is to offer insights and the chance to learn skills in relation to the current topics and phenomena of (working) life. Welcome to the morning session of Alumni Day 2024 where we dive into the theme of family-friendly working life!

Join us live at Think Corner or listen via the livestream to hear about combining work and family, career courage, multicultural working life and the Finnish family leave reform. Live at Think Corner, you also have ther chance to discuss these themes with our speakers and other participants in Learning Cafe style discussions.

The event is bilingual and speakers will present in either Finnish or English. You can participate in the discussions using either language.

Evening session: Skills for (working) life

Welcome to the evening session of the Alumni Day! In this session, you will get to know current skills, phenomena and perspectives that relate to (working) life.

During the evening, we offer you tools to develop your competences and insights into current topics. You will hear an inspiring keynote speech on leading diversity and tailor your evening with two workshops of your choice. Workshop topics include design thinking, sustainability competences and refining your professional profile.
