The City of Helsinki requests the pleasure of your company at a reception on Wednesday 25 June 2025 from 19.00 to 20.30. The city reception will be held in the City Hall. Registration link will be sent closer to the conference.
The City Hall was originally designed as the Seurahuone hotel under Russian rule in 1833 by one of Finland's most famous architects, C.L. Engel, and has served as Helsinki City Hall since the 1930s. The hall has seen balls, concerts, receptions and other events during its years, including the first cinema screening in Finland in 1896.
The building was almost completely rebuilt in 1967-1970, designed by Aarno Ruusuvuori. The Empire-style facade remained the same, but the interior was renovated and now reflects the influences of many decades.

The conference dinner will be organised in Meripaviljonki. Meripaviljonki is a truly unique restaurant located in Hakaniemi, Helsinki. Floating on the waves of Säästöpankinranta, the restaurant offers panoramic sea views and the best seasonal delicacies.
Meripaviljonki’s menus roots are in the sea. The restaurant aims to provide its customers a unique milieu in which to enjoy seafood dishes made from pure, high quality seasonal ingredients that reflect Finnish nature. The restaurant is a showcase of Finnish know-how, an architectural piece or art, and a part of the new international Helsinki.
We will also be organising a meeting for early career researchers to provide a relaxed place to meet and network with other ECRs. More information about the meeting later, stay tuned!
