Abstract submission

We invite our participants to make submissions for the 18th Meeting of the Nordic Spinal Cord Society. The abstract submissions are open until 6.2.2024.

Instructions for Submissions

Abstracs for oral presentations, posters, and workshops can be submitted at the NoSCoS 2024 Presentation Portal.

Below you will find the guidelines for abstract submissions.

Important Information

Product brand names are not allowed in the abstract title or abstract text. Use generic names only. A brand name can be inserted as a reference at the bottom of the abstract page.

Abstracts submitted will be designated for either posters, oral presentations or workshops by the scientific committee according to the submitters preference (final decision is made by the scientific committee).  

Abstract Submission Guidelines

A. General Conditions

Abstracts are required for all oral presentations, posters, and workshops. Submissions must be made before 6 February 2024. Accepted abstracts will be published online during the conference.

B. Presenting Author and Registration

The presenting author must register as participant at the conference at the latest 14 days after acceptance of an abstract. The NoSCoS 2024 Conference Secretariat reserves the right to exclude any abstract that is not followed by a participant registration at the latest 14 days after notification of acceptance.

C. Contents of Your Abstract

The abstract word limit is max. 250 words per abstract. The title should be as brief as possible but long enough to clearly indicate the nature of the study. All abbreviations must be defined in first use.

Oral and Poster Presentation

Please prepare your abstract file in English with a maximum of 250 words.

The following headings should be included:

  • Introduction (briefly list your study rationale, objectives, and study subjects)
  • Methods (list main methods and analysis)
  • Results (list main findings)
  • Conclusions (if appropriate, include any significant limitations)

Workshop

Please prepare your abstract file in English with a maximum of 250 words.  No subheadings are required.

Workshop can include background information on the topic, including both established knowledge and latest research, as well as have room for discussion. Workshop can include consumer perspective and should involve active participation of the audience. Workshop organisers can consider small group discussions, panel discussions, demonstrations/exercises, questionnaires/polls through digital applications. Please feel free to be creative. Workshop can be a collaboration between different units and countries, including units outside Nordic countries.

In addition to submitting the abstract text, you will be asked to answer the following questions:

  1. Topic of the workshop
  2. Preference concerning length of the workshop (1 h 15 min, 1 h 30 min, 1 h 45 min). Please note that this is not guaranteed.
  3. Speakers, their topics and affiliations
  4. Responsible person with contact details (email, phone number in international form)
  5. Learning goals
  6. Target audience
  7. Are you willing to present your topic as a poster or oral presentation, if your workshop is not accepted?
  8. Does the workshop involve presentation of commercial products?

D. Reviewing

The scientific committee will review the abstract. Notification of acceptance or rejection of the abstract will be sent to all authors by 1 March 2024.

It is the responsibility of all investigators that all studies are performed with respect to national legislation, international  legislation and ethical guidelines both with regards to humans and animals. The NoSCoS 2024 Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject any submitted abstract that is believed to violate these principles.
