Think Corner Stage

Stage, located on the entrance level, is the main event space at Think Corner.

Stage is Think Corner’s main event venue, with facilities suitable for open events of approximately 100 to 150 people. Think Corner Café operates in the same space. Stage is furnished with café tables and rows of chairs. The total number of seats is 150. 

Events at Think Corner Stage are scheduled in two-hour time slots. Events can be organised Monday to Friday during the following times: 9–11, 13–15, or 17–19. Stage can have two events per day in consecutive time slots, and an organizer can reserve one time slot per day.

The Stage is not suited to organising workshops. Events cannot be held simultaneously at Stage and the Fönster venue, because they are located close to each other.

Route from the building entrance to the facility 

  • The entrance is located at the corner of Fabianinkatu and Yliopistonkatu. The entrance has a ramp with a gradient of approximately 4.9 degrees. The ramp slopes sideways, resulting in a threshold of over 20 mm at a width of 800 mm at the bottom of the ramp.
  • The outer door at the entrance opens with a button. There is a 25 mm threshold in front of the door. Behind the door is a vestibule, from which you can continue through a second button-operated door. This door has no threshold. 

Getting around the facility 

  • The facility's floor is level throughout. 

Furniture and accessible spaces 

  • The facility has movable furniture. 

Presentation area 

  • The facility has a presentation area. 
  • The presentation area is accessed via steps. The clear floor area in front of the accessible space table has a depth of 3. The presentation area steps have no handrail/handrails.
  • The presentation area is accessed via a ramp. The presentation area ramp has no handrail/handrails.

Sound and lighting 

  • The facility is equipped with a hearing induction loop or other assistive sound transmission system. 
  • General lighting is 500 lx or above. 
  • General lighting is adjustable, including brightness and direction. 
  • The lighting level is higher beneath the spotlights and skylights. In sunny weather, sunlight causes glare in parts of the facility and the stage, depending on the time of year and time of day. In spring, the skylights are fitted with sun shades that reduce glare. The facility cannot be fully darkened.  
  • The LED video wall in the space may have flashing light. During events, there may be bright lighting on the stage. 
Facility rent includes:
  • Use of the space for 4 hours (2 hours for program, 1 hour for preparation, and 1 hour for dismantling the event)
  • Furnishing: seating for 150 people, stage platform and stage furniture
  • AV-system
  • Support for practical and technical arrangements before the event, and assistance during the event
  • Technical production of the event
  • Live streaming on Think Corner's website. In addition to being streamed on Think Corner’s website, the stream may also be made available through the client’s own channel. Please inquire separately to discuss implementation.
  • An unedited video recording (captioning not included)
Furnishing

Stage

  • Size of the stage platform: 9 m x 3 m
  • The stage platform is 40 cm high and is accessed by two 20 cm high steps. For accessible entry, we can swap a 90 cm wide ramp in place of the steps.
  • Stage furniture: armchairs, small coffee tables and standing tables available for the speakers ()

Audience

  • Seating for an audience of 150 people, consisting of rows of chairs and café tables.
Facility equipment

Sound

Stage is equipped with a Sennheiser SpeechLine microphone system. The available microphone options are:

  • A wireless headset microphone (max. 6 pcs)
  • A wireless handheld microphone (max. 4 pcs)

The truss above the stage is equipped with a pair of TWAUDiO ELLA6 speakers, while under the stage is a TWAUDiO B14 subwoofer. 

Line level audio summing is available for external streamers.

Projections

  • At Stage, projections are displayed on a 10-metre-wide Samsung IE015A LED video wall.
  • Two image sources can be projected side by side (aspect ratio 16:9), or the entire wall can be used to project one image source (aspect ratio 32:9).
  • The end wall at the Yliopistonkatu entrance has room for a small projection.

Lighting

  • In addition to the lighting on the stage itself, mood lighting is available in the space. The colour tone of the lights in the space can be adjusted according to theme.

Streaming

  • The service includes live streaming. The stream and recordings can be viewed on the Think Corner website.

Tiedekulma Cafe offers a wide selection of food and drink for a range of events. Nourishing breakfasts and lunches, refreshing snacks, finger food and drinks – we have it all. As the Think Corner event facilities are fully licensed, it is forbidden to bring your own alcoholic beverages.
