Sending an encrypted email message to Admissions Services

Confidential e-mail allows a safe sending of messages. The content of your message will thus be transferred in a secure format, making it less easy for third parties to gain access to it.

If you decide to submit an encrypted email message to Admissions Services, follow the instructions below. 

We recommend you to use this service in following cases:

  • you are submitting your appeal to Admissions Services
  • you are submitting documents concerning the registration as an attending or non-attending student (first year students) to Admissions Services

To send an encrypted email message open this link: https://securemail.helsinki.fi/index.cgi?recipient=admissions@helsinki.fi&lang=en

Enter your email address in the “From” field. Email address entered here cannot not be helsinki.fi address. (If you are student or employee of the University of Helsinki, follow the instructions given by Helpdesk)

Answer to the verification question and press “CONTINUE”.

When the new page opens, the email address of the Admissions Services will be automatically marked as the recipient.

Please specify what your message is concerning in the “subject” field. For example, Appeal: master’s programme application round, Master’s Programme in Economics OR Registration: Receipt of the Student Union Membership Fee Payment.

After this, write your message in the “message" field.

If you want to attach file(s) to your message, press “BROWSE” and choose the files you want to attach, press “OK” and then “ATTACH”. Please send your files in PDF-format, if it is possible.

Press ”SEND”. The confirmation stating that the message was sent successfully will appear on your screen.

If you want to save the message on your computer, choose the format in the drop-down menu and press “SAVE”.

Finally press ”EXIT”.
