The 60-credit programme for pedagogical studies for subject teachers is offered in Finnish, bilingually in Swedish and Finnish, and English.
They are available to
- 1) those who have already taken taken a Master level degree at a Finnish University or abroad, and
- 2) the students at certain Faculties at the University of Helsinki.
The studies in Finnish cover school subjects in comprehensive and upper-secondary schools and orientation to adult education subjects. More information on the programme is offered in Finnish only. During the academic year 2017 - 2018 there is also a special programme of 60 credits in Finnish in pedagogical studies for ICT-experts.
The studies organised bilingually (Swedish and Finnish) cover school subjects in comprehensive and upper-secondary schools but NOT adult education subjects. More information is available in Finnish and Swedish.
The pedagogical study programme in English is called the STEP (Subject Teacher Education Programme in English). It covers the pedagogical studies for the following school subjects in the comprehensive and upper-secondary schools in Finland:
English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, and Swedish (as the other domestic or foreignlanguage), Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
