Research interests

I’m interested in the intersection between Historical Sociolinguistics and Construction Grammar, and in corpus linguistics. In my Master’s thesis, I examined how the way-construction (“Sam joked his way into the meeting”) has changed and varied from the 17th to the 19th century. In my doctoral research, I’m investigating change and variation in the interaction between the way-construction and other linguistic structures that can be used to convey literal or figurative motion.

I also looked into the development of -body and -one indefinite pronouns in eighteenth-century British publishing networks as part of the project (2020-2024).
