Digital Natives? - Saami Games Now! Exhibition is open!

Digital Natives? - Saami Games Now! Exhibition exhibition is running at Annakaisa Kultima’s Kumma Gallery, Kankurinkatu 5, Punavuori, Helsinki.

The exhibition is curated by Outi Laiti, who is an Indigenous Studies Scholar at the University of Helsinki focusing on Indigenous digital game development and research. The exhibition features a decade worth of work since 2014 and is funded by Koneen Säätiö | Kone Foundation project Biocultural Heritage and Non-Linear Time project for funding.

The exhibition focuses on eight games, out of which two are commercially released (Skábma by Red Stage Entertainment & Raanaa by MIKSAPIX INTERACTIVE AS). Five games are playable at the gallery.

The exhibition runs from 15th August to 13th September and is open for public 14:00-17:00 on weekdays (with couple of exceptions). You can also request a private visit.

The exhibition material is multilingual: the majority is in English and in North Saami, but you can also hear Skolt Saami and Inari Saami if you are brave enough and play the games. We are also more than happy to guide you in Finnish.
