Contact and Opportunities

I have been fortunate to open my independent laboratory in the same research premises of Biomedicum, where I have performed my doctoral and post-doctoral studies. During the training, I have also visited and conducted research at other top international laboratories such as Whitehead Institute of Biomedical Research in Cambridge, United States of America and University of Cambridge, Cambridge in United Kingdom. This has allowed me to understand what is important and essential for providing an enriching research environment to foster new ideas and methods to address interesting questions. My group and laboratory is located in the medical campus of the University of Helsinki that has a strong focus for both basic and translational research and is bestowed with all the modern research facilities and infrastructure. I am always happy to hear from motivated and passionate young minds who are interested in making a career in scientific research and ready to take challenging projects with pure dedication. If interested, please contact biswajyoti.sahu@helsinki.fi

Who we are looking for? Candidates trained in any field of life sciences (e.g. Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology etc.) or quantitative science (e.g. Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, etc.) but with a penchant to understand gene regulation by transcription factors and their mechanisms.

Why Helsinki? It's a modern nordic city and usually ranked among the top ten cities in the world to work and live. It is safe, close to nature, provides great infrastructure to support a high quality of life and English is very widely spoken. It also has a buzzing startup scene in terms of life science, health care research and biotechnology.
