The IUFRO 125th Anniversary congress gathered more than 2 000 researchers from all the forest-related fields of science. The Ecosystem Processes’ Research group was well represented in the congress: Teemu Hölttä chaired a session on tree phloem function, where Yann Salmon had a presentation on drought effects on phloem transport. Annikki Mäkelä presented recent forest growth simulations. Kaisa Rissanen introduced the impacts of Endoconidiophora polonica on tree physiology. Anni Vanhatalo presented the results of a modelling study on the climate impacts of boreal forest use. Laura Matkala showed the relations between soil phosphorus concentrations and ground vegetation.
