European long-term ecosystem research infrastructure eLTER has gained funding from EU to support and develop the infrastructure. This includes, for example, harmonising the research methods and measurement, opening and increasing the usability of existing and new data measued at eLTER sites, and creating new tools to measure and foresee the state of the environment. In Finland, five research stations are part of this infrastructure: Hyytiälä, Tvärminne, Lammi, Värriö and Kilpisjärvi.
