Cultivating Expertise in Learning of Life Sciences

Cul­tiv­at­ing Ex­pert­ise in Learn­ing of Life Sci­ences – Advancing Learning and Teaching at University

We investigate students’ conceptual understanding and conceptual change in secondary education and in higher education, with a particular focus on the life sciences and sustainability competences. In addition, we examine the pedagogical conceptual understanding and professional vision of university teachers in the life sciences. To gain rich and multidimensional insights, we employ a mixed methods approach that typically combines for example various learning tasks, eye-tracking methodology, questionnaires and interviews.
