Peixin Nie defended her PhD thesis on Sept. 5th, titled "The Potential Transfer Effect of Music Learning on Verbal Working Memory: Modulations by Native Language Background?" The studies investigated the transfer effects of music learning in Finnish speakers and Mandarin Chinese speakers and the potential interactions between music and language.
