Dr. Kaisamari Kostilainen has previously shown that parental singing is beneficial for infants who were born preterm. Now, she is involved in a research project in which she studies whether singing and music therapy could help infants who suffer from opioid withdrawal symptoms. These infants suffer from heartbreaking pain and stress for several weeks after birth and they need nonpharmacological care, too.
