Dr Tuuli Kurki is a Senior Research Fellow and the Principal Investigator of MadEnCounters. Her research interests lie mainly within critical interdisciplinary approaches, such as Critical Race and Whiteness Studies, Psychopolitics and Mad Studies, to explore racism, ableism, sanism and embodied intersectionality. Methodologically she is interested in capturing lived experiences through ethnographic research and art-based and collaborative methods.
Dr Elina Ikävalko is a Senior Research Fellow and the Co-Principal Investigator of MadEnCounters. Her research interests lie within feminist/queer, disability and mad studies.
Shambhavi Singh is the Artist-Researcher in the project. Her work explores and articulates social inequality through graphic narratives, comics, paintings and animation. She is interested in how visual art can provide tools for advocacy and critical thinking.
Nia Sullivan is a Doctoral Researcher. Her research interests lie in Racialization, Adultification, Infantilization, Resilience, and Restorative Justice
