This theme is headed by Assistant Professor Annamari Heikinheimo (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Finnish Food Authority), including as research topics the effects of both national and global phenomena on animal health, taking into consideration the cross-border movement of animals, globalisation, urbanisation, changes in land use and the intensification of agriculture. Alongside domestic animals, the research encompasses wildlife. The theme is aimed at generating increasingly sustainable and fair systemic solutions in Finland and globally.
