July was the primary holiday season in Finland, leading to a quieter period for the FoodLeader project. However, as August began, the FoodLeader team started making significant strides intensively across multiple areas. Key advancements were achieved in developing the study protocol focusing on school feeding programs and conducting a thorough literature review of mycotoxins and pesticides in food samples. The team also enhanced the project's website, streamlined procurement processes, and a digital course platform test course. Throughout August, the different project working groups convened, complemented by two coordinators' meetings and two board meetings. Additionally, the project team focused on preparing for an important upcoming event: the University of Helsinki team members visit to Lúrio University, scheduled for September 2024.
- Procurement updates: The laboratory equipment offers have been received for the University of Nairobi and the Lúrio University.
- Website development: The Portuguese website was published in addition to the already existing English version.
- Study Protocol Progress: The study protocol proceeded, and the surveys have been started to be developed.
- Digital platform: The development of the DigiCampus test course was initiated.
