The annual list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Web of Science indexing and search service covers peer-reviewed published research articles especially in the natural sciences and medicine. Due to this, scholars of the humanities and education, among others, are not included on the list.
