The University of Helsinki joined the Urban Tech Helsinki incubator

The University, The City of Helsinki, the Aalto University and the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences launch an incubator collaboration for the first time.

Urban Tech Helsinki is an incubator that seeks clean and sustainable urban solutions. The goal is to attract and support experts and accelerate the creation and growth of research-based companies in the capital region. The incubator will holds its first round of applications for the incubator for Helsinki-based start-up companies will start on 30 June.

“A lot is going on at the University of Helsinki. We strive to create the right conditions and develop new research-based innovations and companies, as well as the emergence of world-class innovation platforms.

"As a leading research university, we support both our students 'and researchers' path from idea to a commercializable innovation and a successful company. New success stories based on our research are Nanoform and Mobidiaq. We collaborate with the City of Helsinki on all four of our campuses. The Urban Tech Helsinki project adds an excellent addition to this significant collaboration", states  Pekka Pellinen, Expert at the University of Helsinki.
