Apply by 10.1. – Notifications of interest in membership in the University Board invited from outside the University community

All members of the Board for the next term of 1 January 2026–31 December 2029 will be appointed during 2025.

The University Collegium has opened the procedure for notifications of interest from outside the University community in membership of the University Board. The Collegium appoints four external members of the Board from among the candidates who have come forward.

According to the Universities Act, the external members must represent a wide range of expertise in the sciences or arts in the field of operation of the University. In addition, they are expected to have motivation, time and commitment for the Board’s work.

Notifications of interest will be accepted until 10 January 2025, and the decision on the appointment of the external members will be made at the Collegium’s meeting on 19 March 2025.

Board appointments in 2025

In 2025, the Board of the University will be appointed in its entirety for the term from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2029. The next Board will have 10 members, four of whom from outside the University community. From within the University, two professors, two representatives of other teaching and research staff and other staff, as well as two students will be appointed.

The members from outside the University community will be appointed by the University Collegium through a notification of interest procedure. Members of the Board representing professors as well as other teaching and research staff and other staff will be selected through an internal election at the University. Student representatives will be appointed by the Student Union. The term of office of the members of the Board is four years, with the exception of the student members, for whom it is two years.
