Ten University of Helsinki researchers among the most cited 1% in their respective fields

The Highly Cited Researchers list ranks scholars whose articles other researchers have cited the most over the last decade.

Ten University of Helsinki researchers have been named on the annual Highly Cited Researchers list. Eight of the researchers have their primary affiliation at the University, while two work primarily elsewhere.

The list identifies researchers from across the globe who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers. Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index.

Web of Science indexing and search service covers peer-reviewed published research articles especially in the natural sciences and medicine. Due to this, scholars of the humanities and education, among others, are not included on the list.
