The evening will feature walking tours of hidden rooms and the University’s sculpture collection, music and poetry written for conferment ceremonies performed in the magnificent Great Hall, as well as student choirs performing in the vestibule of the grand entrance lobby of the Main Building facing Senate Square. The University Museum will remain open until 21.00, and in addition to seeing the exhibition, visitors may hear Virpi Hämeen-Anttila describe what she finds most interesting about Zachris Topelius, the 19th century Finnish author. There will also be a screening of the film Oi aika, vanha kultainen from 1942, which was filmed in central University buildings and focuses on student celebrations on the eve of May Day.
UniCafe Student Restaurant serves visitors until 7pm.
