Pan-Eurasian Experiment (PEEX) Science Conference

The 3rd Pan-Eurasian Experiment (PEEX) Science Conference brought together professional and scientific experts focused on Northern Eurasia, particularly in the Arctic and boreal regions under research themes related to the atmosphere, land ecosystems, aquatic and anthropogenic activities. Participants from the Ecosystem Processes research group included Prof. Jaana Bäck, who chaired the “Arctic-boreal land ecosystem & inland waters” session. At this session, Anna Lintunen presented her study on the impact of soil temperature on belowground hydraulic conductance of Scots pine; Mari Mäki presented the inter- and intra-annual variability of BVOCs measured from the boreal forest soil; and Tommy Chan presented the relationship between stem growth respiration and the seasonal course of stem growth and GPP of Scots pine. Frank Berninger and Kajar Köster were also present at the conference.
