Summer and Winter Schools

These intensive joint courses offer an interdisciplinary approach to your research, enhancing skills and expanding your professional network across Europe. Una Europa summer/winter schools hosted by our partner universities provide international educational experiences, learning opportunities from distinguished academics across diverse disciplines, and foster multidisciplinary approaches in research. You have the opportunity to connect with fellow doctoral researchers and academics while exploring new universities, cities, and cultures through enriching social and cultural programs.

Doctoral Programme in Cultural Heritage

Una Europa Doctoral Programme in Cultural Heritage offers a widely recognized joint/double European doctoral title, mandatory supervision by professors from two partner universities, required stays at multiple Una Europa partners, jointly developed content for skills enhancement, and unified structures for admission and assessment.

Develop your skills

Challenge yourself by getting involved in collaborative problem-solving activities and challenges, like interdisciplinary training methods courses, the annual Student Award, PhD Impact Award, or Student Project Incubator, or apply for traineeships at Una Europa vzw in Brussels.

Interdisciplinary Methods training: 

Boost your interdisciplinary methods and research skills – and your impact! Doctoral researchers will learn techniques and methods to critically address complex challenges, and strengthen the connection between your research and policy. 

PhD Impact Award: 

The Una Europa PhD Impact Award is designed to highlight the significant contributions and potential influence of research conducted by doctoral researchers within Una Europa. This annual award encourages doctoral researchers to critically evaluate their research practices, emphasizing how their work affects society and contributes to global progress.

Student Award:

The Student Award is an annual call to recognise and showcase student visions, ideas, and creativity towards reinventing the university and building a University of the Future.

Take part in activities like the annual Student Congress or the European Student Assembly to explore themes relevant to your academic journey. Additionally, you can join the Local Task Force of students and PhD researchers to help develop Una Europa events and activities at your university.

ESA is a grassroots project gathering students from European Universities alliances to debate current issues, draft policy recommendations to shape the future of Europe, and advocate for them to their peers as well as key decision-makers.

Local Task Force of Students and PhD researchers

Being a member in the local task force here at the University of Helsinki means that you will join a team of motivated and enthusiastic students and PhD researchers! We are open for all backgrounds and study fields and levels of study. Currently we’re a mix of both international and Finnish students and range from bachelor to master to PhD students. We meet every other week and plan activities, events, brainstorm and implement activities.
