Free registration open: Bergen workshop "Current opportunities in public archaeology research - Uses and Users of the Data"

From Treasure Hunters to Citizen Scientists is a three-part workshop seminar series taking place 2022-2023 in Helsinki Finland, Bergen Norway and Århus Denmark, and which aims to examine the various citizen science and heritage management challenges presented by metal-detecting, specifically through engagement and consultation with diverse audiences and stake-holder groups specifically in the Nordic countries.

Registration is now open for the Bergen workshop "Current opportunities in public archaeology research - Uses and Users of the Data", held at the University Museum - Natural History in Bergen, Muséplassen 3, Norway on 6th-7th October 2022 at 10:00-15.30 CET. Attendance is free but the workshop will be on site only (no streaming opportunity).

This workshop consists of a series of public talks and discussions with a special focus on the scientific value of metal-detecting finds, the importance of research portals for these finds and on collaboration between professional archaeologists and the metal-detectorist community.
