The instructions for information security disturbances, such as security breaches or misuse of user accounts, are found in the University of Helsinki intranet Flamma. In urgent situations, please contact Helpdesk.

Instructions for security breach situations (Flamma)

  • If you suspect your computer has a virus, disconnect the network cable of your computer or turn off the computer and contact Helpdesk.

Instructions for parties outside the University of Helsinki

If an information system of the University of Helsinki is involved in an exceptional situation, such as a university computer causing some disturbance in the network or spreading viruses or spam, please contact abuse [at] helsinki.fi. To expedite the process, please mention at least the following information in your message:

  • What has happened
  • Date and time of the incident
  • Potential name and network address of the system. If possible, use exact log markings.
