Dean Jaakko Kangasjärvi passed away on 16 May 2024 following a serious and rapidly progressing illness.
Jaakko Kangasjärvi served as Dean of the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences from 2018 and as Professor of Plant Biology from 2003.
The University community has warm memories of dean and colleague Jaakko Kangasjärvi, and we extend our condolences to his family. Flags will be flown at half-mast on Viikki Campus on Monday, 20 May 2024 to honour his memory.
Professor Juha Voipio will act as the acting Dean.
