The Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences has again a pleasure to invite all its personnel, friends and cooperation partners to a lively and elevating Oktoberfest party that will be organized as a hybrid event (both live and streamed) in the UH Think Corner (Tiedekulma), Yliopistonkatu 4, on Thursday, October 21, starting at 17:00. The programme of this traditional Oktoberfest party focuses on the role of science in the society and decision-making, and includes, inter alia:
- explosive science snapshots,
- lively panel discussion about the interaction between science and non-academic world
- best published article and influencer of the year awards.
Present in the event are Jaakko Kangasjärvi (Dean), Tuomas Aivelo (desease ecologist), Riikka Heikinheimo (Director, EK, Confederation of Finnish Industries), Atte Harjanne, kansanedustaja (Vihreät), Kai Kaila (Professor, neurobiologist), Jouni Heiskanen (Director, biological stations) and many others. This all flavoured with live music by Miika Vintturi jazz/soul trio and stand-up show by Ray Zambino – an English-speaking comedian from Scotland!
