Welcome to LSI programme,

On behalf of the Board of the Master’s Programme in Life Science Informatics, I am happy to welcome you to our programme. This is an excellent place for a curious mind to learn.

Our programme offers an opportunity to study in English with the high standards of Finnish education. Our courses are highly research-oriented with enthusiastic teachers from all around the world.

As you already may have noticed, Master’s programme in Life Science Informatics goes more commonly with a name “LSI programme”. LSI programme board includes students’ voice to the work and decision making. We have two spots in our programme board for students and we also inform students about the main topics that are discussed in the board meetings.

It is important for us that you develop a feeling of belonging of the strong academic community at the Kumpula Campus of the University of Helsinki. Additionally, depending on your specialization you will get familiar with either the Meilahti Campus or Viikki Campus, where the faculties of Medicine and Biological and Environmental Sciences are located. You will be assigned an Academic Mentor, who will assist you throughout your academic journey. University of Helsinki also offers other support services, like Student ServicesStudy Psychologists and University Chaplains.

Best,
Jarno Vanhatalo
Programme Director
