Information about the conference venue, poster guidelines, lunch locations, public transport and accommodation.
Conference venue

The conference will be held at the University of Helsinki Viikki Campus, Biocentre 2 (Viikinkaari 5), in auditorium 2041 (also live streamed to auditorium 1041).

Poster guidelines

Poster boards:

  • Portrait orientation
  • Size 95cm wide x 114cm high
  • A0 portrait poster (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm) with a small overlap

Poster set-up and display:

  • Morning of Tuesday 27th May, before the first session starts (0945
  • Unique poster number for each presenter
  • Pins provided
  • All posters displayed throughout the whole conference
  • First and second floor foyers in front of the conference auditoria 
  • Abstracts will be available to all participants in the digital abstract book

Poster sessions:

  • Session 1, Tuesday 27th May, 1500-1700
  • Session 2, Wednesday 28th May, 1100-1300
  • Mix of conference themes represented in each session

Poster creation guidelines:

  • No poster template
  • Include your contact details and possibly also a photograph of yourself 
  • Print an A4 handout of your poster to give away (optional) 

Poster prizes!

The two best posters (voted for by conference participants) will be awarded a prize during the closing remarks at the end of the conference. 

Lunch restaurants on campus

The Viikki campus has many places where you can get both a warm lunch, as well as sandwiches and snacks.

The following restaurants accept the lunch tickets from the conference (found together with your name badge):

There is also a Prisma supermarket on the west side of the campus.

Public transport

Helsinki has an excellent public transport network which includes buses, trams, trains and some ferries.

The Viikki campus is also easily accessible by cycling and walking.

Accommodation

The city of Helsinki has accommodation to suit everyone's needs ranging from first-class hotels to hostels and AirBnB's.

Many of the hotels are certified as environmentally friendly with an eco-certificate, and some offer carbon footprint information.
