EURASIA AND GLOBAL MIGRATION

Welcome to the 20th Aleksanteri Conference, Eurasia and Global Migration

The 20th Annual Aleksanteri Conference brings together scholars exploring dimensions of global migration to, from and within the Eurasian space. We invite you to discuss a broad range of migration-related topics through contemporary or historical perspectives.

The 2021 conference is a special one. It is the 20th occasion of our multidisciplinary conference, and also the first time this event is held completely online. We are excited to explore the opportunities of the virtual conference format, and hope to provide an inspiring forum for academic discussions.

We are happy to announce as our Ceremonial speaker Dr. Maria Ohisalo, Minister of the Interior, Finland.

About Aleksanteri Conferences

The Aleksanteri Conference is an annual, multidisciplinary, international event organised by the Aleksanteri Institute, the Finnish Centre for Russian and Eastern European Studies, at the University of Helsinki since 2001. Aleksanteri conferences have attracted broad interest among researchers and policy-makers in a wide variety of disciplines, both in Finland and abroad, who are interested in the development of post-socialist countries.
